Here are several examples that can help your coordination with alternate picking. Alternate picking alternates “down, up” with each stroke. Start slowly, and pay close attention to string crossing. Try to angle your pick so that the trajectory misses the adjacent string. I use these as warmup exercises, and they start out feeling pretty natural under your fingers, and gradually work in a bit of a sequencing challenge as we go.
