Blues and Beyond: The E Minor Pentatonic Scale

This time we’ll keep it simple–well, sort of.

Here I’ve given you the pentatonic box patterns all the way up the neck.

There are still only 5 notes: E G A B D

But now you’ll know where to play ‘em everywhere.

Once you get to the 12th fret, you’ll see that the pattern is the same as the pattern at the open position, except your index finger has to play all of the 12th fret notes (all of those notes are open in open position).
